Yesterday was a rough one - biggest death toll in the US so far - 1800 deaths in one day. They included one of my favorite artists, John Prine. So it's a dark day on Dagobah, our home base.

The world seems alternately crazy and normal. We still get up and go to our respective corners of the house and work. But after work, we are still here, and we don't go anywhere at night, just sit and watch our new family obsession, LOST. Somehow, watching people trapped on an island with little contact to the outside "real" world is still fun and seems not anything like what we are going through.

Our other distraction: chicks. The chick eggs have arrived and our setup is ready and the eggs are incubating as we speak. I am working with the school's IT department to make a chick and duck cam so that people can log on and watch as they, hopefully, start to hatch. The girls are in charge of watching the incubators twice a day to make sure they are doing okay, which should, in theory, be good.

Last thing, for distraction, I currated this Prine Gems according to me. Just some good ones and some covers to entertain, maybe cry a little.
